Susan Kitazawa is lucky to have grown up knowing that creativity is part of ordinary, everyday life. Facing limitations and challenges can open us to creative possibilities. Many years working as a registered nurse with people living in the margins deepened this childhood belief. Now a village elder, Susan is still enjoying art making, writing, and dancing within a community of people who believe we are here to lift each other up as we make our way through life.
