HOPE
THRIVES
ANNUAL GALLERY TAKEOVER EXHIBITION
JANUARY 27 - MARCH 6, 2026
Hope Thrives invites us to consider how hope can take root and flourish, even in uncertain, challenging, or chaotic times. Through creative expression, this exhibition explores how drawing, painting, collage, construction and collaboration help us reflect on our individual experiences while acknowledging our place within a larger, interconnected story. When we create together, pause to reflect, and connect, hope does not merely endure - it thrives.
A selection of works in the exhibition honor Ruth Asawa, the artist and teacher whose life’s work inspires Ruth’s Table. Community members gathered for a Dough-in to create baker’s clay figures, and many hands came together to collaborate on a 100th birthday card celebrating her January 24th birthday. Reflecting Asawa’s belief in communal artmaking, these works continue her practice of connecting people through creativity, showing how hope takes root and thrives when we create together.
Hope Thrives is part of Gallery Takeover, an annual collaborative project. Throughout the year, Ruth’s Table and Creative Spark partner with community organizations to offer meaningful, arts-based experiences that culminate in a community-led exhibition. This interactive program creates space for participants of all ages and abilities to express themselves, share their stories, and build connections through art.
