Join us on Wednesdays from 1:00–3:00 PM for an ongoing, open-ended creative studio experience facilitated by our Discovery Guides.
Each week, participants will be invited to explore a featured project while also having the freedom to work independently, continue a project from a previous session, or bring their own creative ideas to life. The program emphasizes creativity, community, sustainability, and the stories behind the things we make, while encouraging participants to learn, experiment, and connect with one another. Explore, create, and connect through hands-on creative projects in a welcoming, open studio environment.
Each week features a project idea, but we also encourage:

November Focus – Gallery Take Over: Collage & Mixed Media
Join us for an adventure in collage making as each week we will follow this year’s selected prompts for our annual Gallery Takeover! Art created in this class will be displayed in this year’s “Gallery Takeover” exhibit at Ruth’s Table which will be view February 11th - April 22nd, 2027. Learn more about Gallery Takeover here. Activity Schedule:
Nov 11th In this week’s Exchange table, we will be following the Gallery Takeover Prompt “Abstract Life Collage” where participants will use abstract shapes and colors to represent your evolution over the course of your life.
Prompt concept: In order to know where we are going, we need to take stock in how far we have come. We can increase our confidence in creating the future we want by reminding ourselves that we have done it before. We’ve made choices and taken actions that created change and growth. By using abstract shapes and colors to represent our story, we distill that story into a powerful expression of creativity.
Nov 18th In this week’s Exchange table, we will be following the Gallery Takeover Prompt “Your Future Self” where participants will create what comes next with a portrait of your future self using collage materials on top of a printed photo.
Bring a printed photo of yourself to use! If you don’t have a printer at home, you can email rtable@frontporch.net the image you would like printed for you.
Prompt concept: Your Future Self draws on the idea that we each have the power to intentionally evolve and create a future self that feels aligned with who we want to be and how we want to show up for our community for the collective good of all. This is an opportunity to connect with what within you wants to be born.
Help us build our collage table exchange by bringing:
Collage materials such as magazines, precut abstract shapes, specialty papers, newspapers, wrapping paper, cardstock, tissue, vintage books/maps/sheet music/postcards
Other project-related materials
Please bring only clean, reusable items that relate to current or upcoming projects. Unused materials may need to be taken home.
All skill levels welcome.
