FILM SCREENING
RUTH ASAWA: OF FORMS AND GROWTH
Thursday, August 14 | 6:00-7:00pm
Onsite | Free
Join us for an intimate portrait of pioneering San Francisco artist Ruth Asawa in Of Forms and Growth, a 1977 short documentary by Oscar-winning filmmaker Robert Snyder. The film offers a rare glimpse into Asawa’s life as a mother, teacher, and visionary artist whose work is deeply rooted in nature, community, and the belief that growth is constant.
With quiet power and poetic imagery, the 28-minute film centers Asawa’s own voice and philosophy: “Every minute that we’re attached to the earth, we should be doing something.”
Stay after the screening for a post-show discussion and light refreshments.
