RUTH ASAWA’S ANDREA SLIDE PRESENTATION
Thursday, August 21 | 5:30-7:30pm
Onsite | Free
In 1965, Ruth Asawa began casting faces of her friends and family. This led to her interest in life-casting into bronze. Join Ruth’s Table and Aiko Cuneo for a slide presentation about the history and making of Andrea, Ruth Asawa’s mermaid fountain in San Francisco’s Ghirardelli Square. The mermaids are over fifty years old and continue to bring joy to those who visit San Francisco.
This program is held in celebration of the Ruth Asawa: Retrospective exhibition at the SFMOMA through September 2, 2025.

Visitor Guidelines: Face masks are optional.
Access: Ruth’s Table and adjacent green space are wheelchair accessible.
