CRAFT YOUR OWN HANDHELD LABYRINTH FOR FINGER WALKING
Thursday | July 31, 2025 | 5:00-7:00pm
Onsite | Free
Learn how to make a simple 'finger labyrinth' out of clothesline and collage with artist Lars Howlett. In this two-hour workshop, you'll learn how tracing a labyrinth can bring peace, insights, or inspiration. Using everyday materials, create your very own handheld labyrinth to take home. This is a free, all-ages workshop held indoors by reservation only with limited free tickets available here. (In case of a sell-out, space may be available for walk-up participants in place of those with reserved seats who do not arrive by event start time.)
Lars Howlett is a Labyrinth Artist and Master Builder whose work combines sacred geometry, historic research, and mindful craftsmanship to create unique, site-specific labyrinths around the world. Celebrating ten years of professional practice with over one hundred permanent installations, Lars hand-draws and builds each design—whether Classical, Medieval, or Contemporary—working with compass, collaboration, and care. As a Veriditas Faculty Member and Certified Advanced Labyrinth Facilitator, he trained with Lauren Artress at Grace and Chartres Cathedrals and apprenticed under Master Builder Robert Ferré, inheriting his mentor’s tools, techniques, and teaching legacy. Lars’s artwork honors centuries-old traditions while guiding a new generation of builders, creators, and facilitators. His labyrinths are at once functional meditative spaces and works of art, created to reflect the intention, setting, and spirit of each site.
