ARTIST TALK: MESSAGES FROM
THE MISSION

Wednesday, December 11 | 5:00-6:30 pm
Onsite | All are welcome

Join us for an evening with photographer Patricia Koren as she shares stories and images from her book Messages from the Mission — a street-level chronicle of San Francisco’s Mission District spanning two decades (2002–2022). Copies of Messages from the Mission will be available for sale at this event!

Selected from hundreds of photographs taken over 20 years, these images trace the evolution of a neighborhood through its walls, storefronts, and everyday moments. Many of the scenes captured no longer exist, and many of the people who shaped them have moved on — making this collection a kind of Mission memoir, a portrait in time that honors the resilience, creativity, and layered history of this beloved community.
