Weekly Creative Programs

Our free weekly programs provide a welcoming and inspiring environment to engage with the arts through movement, painting, fiber arts, textiles, paper crafts, and other visual arts programs. Our programs aim to promote positive aging, reduce isolation, encourage personal growth and well-being, and foster social connections.

Public Programs

During each exhibition, Ruth’s Table hosts a series of artist-led workshops, talks, presentations, and gallery events.

Our public programs encourage visitors to learn more or engage in hands-on exploration of key themes, ideas, and techniques from the exhibition on view.

Community Arts Education

Every year, RT develops close relationships with older adults communities, services providers, local nonprofits, and community groups to design and deliver resources and programs that foster creative experiences, with a particular emphasis on those that lack supportive creative opportunities.

From phone-based programs for individuals who are blind or have low vision, to programs for individuals living with dementia and their care partners, to multi-lingual engagement tools, to parallel programming, our teaching artists and educators build a year-round program of creative explorations that is engaging, accessible, and supportive of the diverse needs and abilities of our participants.

In 2022 alone, RT has provided a platform to over 25 partners, inspiring and connecting over 1,300 participants.

Intergenerational Programs

With cross-genenerational exchange in the heart of our program, we encourage people of all ages to learn, play and make together. We actively collaborate with local schools and universities on projects that promote intergenerational dialogue, including art workshops, storytelling projects, and student-led programming.

Gallery Takeover

Gallery Takeovers are a series of annual exhibitions that display the artwork created through creative programs designed and led by RT, both onsite and offsite in our partner communities.

Aimed to promote inclusivity, visibility and positive images of older adults and adults with disabilities, these interactive exhibitions serve as a platform for every participant to create, share, and connect through art.
